About the Start-up

The opportunity is to revolutionize the driving experience by building a disruptive connected-car platform that improves safety and community for all on the road. Some key points:

• A personalized driving companion built on top of a connected-car platform.
• It helps people improve their driving skills, it provides safer route recommendations, and offers community alerts, in a way similar to Waze.
• It is monetized through add-on services, like subscription insurances, with the goal of revolutionizing the driving experience and improving safety and community on the road.

As Founder and CTO, you will be putting the foundations for shaping the company's technology vision, strategy and execution. You will be leading the development and implementation of product, scalable infrastructure, and best security practices to support the company’s growth.

The company you will be launching is a start-up focused on delivering innovative solutions in the areas of mobile apps, road/travel safety, and InsureTech, this is an opportunity that has been previously validated by a group of entrepreneurs at güil’s research and discovery Lab.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO to define a technology roadmap, contribute to discover the best product solutions to reach a market-fit
• Lead the development and implementation of technology solutions
• Drive the architecture and design of complex backend applications and mobile apps
• Help recruit, build, and manage a high-performing technology team
• Ensure that technology infrastructure is secure, scalable, and supports company’s growth
• Oversee data processing and cloud infrastructure, ensuring the company can handle growing data needs
• Work closely with other stakeholders to ensure technology solutions align with the company's goals and vision
• Manage technology budgets and ensure technology solutions are delivered within budget and on time

Qualifications

• Proven experience as technical leader, backend leader, CTO, or similar leadership role in technology
• Strong technical background with experience in building complex backend services for mobile apps
• Proficiency in more than one programming language, the DNA of a generalist more than a specialist
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, platform as a service, and data processing in the cloud
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a technology team
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive results
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

About You

• You’ve been working in technical roles for more than 4 years
• You are a hands-on coder, you’re a person that can never stop coding because you love it
• You have proven track record in technical leadership, leading/managing teams of developers
• You are passionate about technology and you understand how tech contributes to business growth
• You stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and evaluate new technology solutions that can improve your own business

• Plus: you understand the best practices about how client mobile apps are built and shipped
