Puente Talent Partners connects top Latin American professionals with growing US companies. This role is for one of our US clients, and you would be joining their team directly while being supported by Puente through the hiring process. Our client is a startup that treats AI as a competitive edge and wants someone to build it into how the company actually runs. Not strategy decks: shipped automations that save hours and make money. This seat owns that mission. You will be the first dedicated AI Operations hire and will work directly with leadership and across ops, GTM, and support teams to embed AI into daily workflows. The culture is fast-moving and outcome-oriented; you will have full ownership of the automation lifecycle and the freedom to experiment and ship quickly.

About the Role

You find the work that should not be done by hand and you automate it. Mornings you map a messy process; afternoons you build the workflow or the agent that replaces it. You wield AI and automation tools the way others wield spreadsheets, and you measure your impact in hours saved and errors removed. This role fits a builder who owns outcomes and does not wait for permission.

Key Responsibilities

Find high-impact automation opportunities across ops, GTM, and support, and ship them end to end.
Build internal AI workflows and agents using tools like n8n, Make, Zapier, and LLM APIs.
Lead AI tooling adoption across the team and document what you build.
Instrument and measure: track time saved, cost, and reliability of what you ship.
Partner with leadership to embed AI into how the company operates.
Own the full lifecycle of each automation from discovery through deployment and monitoring.

Who You Are

You have 3+ years in operations or automation, hands-on with AI and automation tooling.
You have shipped automations end to end that are still running.
You think in systems and turn a vague process into a working pipeline.
Your English is excellent in speech and writing.
You own outcomes and move without hand-holding.

Bonus Points

Python or scripting experience.
Hands-on with LLM APIs and agent frameworks.
Experience leading an ops or automation function.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 Days: You have shipped two or more automations that are live and saving real time. You have a backlog of high-impact opportunities mapped and prioritized. You have a clear way to measure the impact of each automation you build.
Ongoing: Automations run reliably and the team depends on them daily. AI is embedded into operations and becomes how the company works. You continuously identify new automation opportunities and iterate on existing workflows.

You will get an email from Puente with a short online assessment and a quick grammar check.
You will record three short video answers so we can see how you communicate.
If it looks like a fit, our recruiter sets up an interview.
Shortlisted candidates are introduced to the US client team for final interviews.

Compensation ranges from $2,500 to $4,000 USD per month as an independent contractor, paid bi-weekly. The role is fully remote with a Monday through Friday schedule aligned to US Central Time (9 AM - 6 PM CT). You will receive a new MacBook Pro and a monthly stipend for coworking or home-office upgrades. After a successful 90-day period, performance bonuses and accelerated growth into a Head of AI Operations track are available.
