About the Role

We are looking for a SeniorData Engineer with strong experience in database migrations, specifically moving large-scale datasets and pipelines from Postgres to Snowflake. You will design, build, and optimize migration workflows using Mage as our orchestration platform, while leveraging both AWS and GCP infrastructure.

This role is ideal for someone who knows how to work with complex schemas, high-volume data, and performance tuning, and who can drive a seamless migration with minimal downtime.

Migration & Pipeline Development

  • Lead the end-to-end migration of datasets, ETL jobs, and schemas from Postgres to Snowflake.
  • Design, build, and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Mage.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance across the migrated ecosystem.

Architecture & Optimization

  • Optimize query performance and warehouse usage in Snowflake (clustering, micro-partitioning, caching, etc.).
  • Work with cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP, integrating pipelines with storage (S3/GCS), compute, IAM, networking, and secret management.
  • Create scalable, cost-efficient data models and workflows.

Tableau Integration & Support

  • Support the migration of Tableau data sources from Postgres connections to Snowflake connections.
  • Work with the Data team to validate Tableau dashboards after migration.
  • Optimize Snowflake models and queries used by Tableau to ensure performance and cost efficiency.
  • Help redesign or refactor extracts, live connections, and published data sources to align with best practices.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Partner with Data, Product, and Engineering to understand data needs and ensure smooth transition.
  • Document migration steps, architecture decisions, and pipeline designs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, data inconsistencies, and pipeline failures.

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or similar roles.
  • Strong expertise with Postgres (schema design, query tuning, replication strategies).
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake (Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, Warehouses).
  • Solid experience orchestrating pipelines using Mage (or Airflow/Prefect with willingness to learn Mage).
  • Strong SQL skills and Python.
  • Experience working with AWS and GCP
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.

Optionals

  • Experience migrating large datasets or re platforming data stacks.
  • Experience implementing security and governance frameworks.
  • Strong communication and documentation habits.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects from start to finish.
  • Problem-solver with a focus on reliability and scalability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cloud-native, multi-cloud environment.

What we offer

  • Opportunity to design and influence the core data architecture.
  • Flexibility, learning resources, and ownership over high-impact projects.
  • Play a key role in the transformation of sustainable urban mobility in our cities.
  • Competitive compensation plan with plenty of development opportunities.
  • Scale with a rapidly growing organization, working with a team of fun, experienced and motivated individuals, with highly growth opportunities.
  • Private Health Insurance plan.
  • 20 days holiday plus your birthday.
  • Work for an international company that has a link between Chile and the UK.
  • Bilingual mode of communication at work.
