• Performing day to day operational administrative tasks for Oracle and MySQL in AWS RDS environment
• Performing Database Backups and Restores via native and RDS tools
• Configuring resource settings such as RAM, CPU, Storage, Alerts
• Monitoring performance and alerts through 3rd party tools, AWS tools and native tools
• Creating and Configurating MySQL / Oracle RDS / AWS Aurora Clustering
• Configuring MySQL replication between on-prem to AWS
• Be able to scale out databases according to department needs
• Making suggestions to assist Cloud Engineers with RDS / EC2 database creations
• Performing data migrations between Database Systems (on prem or AWS)
• Being available for urgent calls and possible evening work or Disaster Recovery (emergency downtime)
• Tracking work through Service Now ticket system
• Collaborating with other Team DBAs and team members
• Being able to document or store meta data about the databases (service accounts, passwords, necessary dictionaries...etc)
• Interface with clients in regards to department requests for special needs

• Both developing new functionality and improving the existing ones.
• Familiar with writing SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers and ad-hoc queries
• Experienced making optimizations in regards to SQL code, system settings, engine performance, indexes

• Familiar with Linux, Unix and scripting
