Factor is looking for a backend engineer to help deliver the future of supply chain management to customers. Our engineering team is growing fast, we had 5 at the end of 2022 and want to exit 2023 with 11 engineers.
We are looking for engineers who want ownership: most our large projects have 1 person on them
We are looking for engineers who want to build: we are a small team of 9 engineers today, everyone is writing code in production for customers
Job functions
Own everything: Develop, test, deploy, monitor services in production. We have no devops. We have no QA. You are responsible for everything you write end to end
Own the code, the repo, the future path we take. We are a true startup, you are hungry to play a major role crafting a fast growing application from the ground up
Deliver critical features to customers: every engineer at the company writes features for production customers
Give lots of code review. Code review is critical for this role as it is the primary way you will influence the team’s development practices Bring new ideas to help us succeed
Qualifications and requirements
Want to work in a small startup!
Want to build: A good day is a day I got my code to prod. We ship every day. Everybody ships
Have 4+ years experience developing
Have experience with Java (Mysql, Kafka, Dynamo, AWS also good)
Speak english: all official communications at Factor are in english
Be a strong communicator across engineering, product, and design
Desirable skills
We are primarily a React 18 frontend, Openapi (REST) api, java 19 (quarkus) server today with smaller sections in Go. We use MySQL and lots of Kafka all on AWS. Although we are a small team we are making great progress and hope to continue our growth!
