Job functions


Why This Role Matters
Data is at the core of Similarweb. As an Big Data Engineer, you’ll design and implement high-scale systems to retrieve and analyze internet data, directly influencing our data infrastructure and client insights.

Your Responsibilities
  • Scraping: Build and maintain large-scale web-scraping operations.
  • Processing: Develop complex data pipelines to process and enrich raw data.
  • Engineering: Design and build robust, large-scale systems to support data infrastructure.

What You'll Do
  • Write complex PySpark applications for data processing.
  • Develop high-performance, dockerized microservices.
  • Collaborate with talented engineers and learn new technologies.
  • Implement solutions within AWS cloud.
  • Monitor and debug data pipelines and services.

Qualifications and requirements


About You
  • Be aligned with our culture of humility, ingenuity, self-management, collaboration, and a positive mental attitude
  • 3+ years in server-side software development (e.g. C#, Java, Python).
  • Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, Airflow).
  • Familiar with cloud environments (e.g. AWS, GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of web scraping technologies and internet internals? A plus!
  • Eager to learn, take on challenges, and work in a team.
