Thesis Driven is a specialized real estate media and data company dedicated to providing high-quality prospecting data to companies in the real estate industry. As a relatively small but highly profitable company, we are focused on scaling our operations.

We’re looking for a hands-on data operator to own and scale the enrichment of a high-value dataset of real estate developers across the U.S. and Canada. This role will drive scraping pipelines, integrate public data (e.g. building permits), and incorporate AI-powered enrichment workflows. You’ll work at the intersection of data engineering, product strategy, and real estate intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand scrapers targeting developer websites, permit portals, and public records
  • Integrate new data sources (APIs, CSVs, public datasets) into our core developer catalog
  • Build and refine AI-powered workflows using LLMs to enhance data (e.g., entity extraction, classification)
  • Normalize and de-duplicate records across multiple sources
  • Create lightweight QA processes and tools to monitor data quality
  • Make strategic decisions about which data points and sources are most valuable
  • Manage a small team of data entry specialists and freelancers

Qualifications and requirements

  • Strong Python skills (esp. for scraping, data wrangling, and light ML)
  • Experience working with unstructured and semi-structured data
  • Familiarity with public datasets (e.g., permit data, zoning, business registrations)
  • Prior work with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, etc.) in a data context
  • Strong spoken and written English; capable of asynchronous remote communication

Nice-to-have skills

  • Familiarity with real estate or proptech data models
  • Experience with geospatial data
  • Exposure to orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect) or no-code automation (Make, Zapier)
  • Familiarity with no-code tools like Bubble (our stack)
