Job description

We are looking for a talented front-end engineer with a passion for UI and data visualization.

Data is core to Civic Brain’s daily operations and long term goals. Through data we present actionable insights to local governments so that they can communicate effectively with citizens. You will help to define how the Civic Brain platform engages with users.

As a front-end engineer, you will work closely with the product team to develop tools that satisfy the needs of our customers. You will develop friendly web applications, dashboards and data visualizations. You will have exposure to all aspects of our front-end.

Do you have the following traits / skills?

  • Avid learner. You have significant working experience with JavaScript and some of the web frameworks out there. You can differentiate between good emergent technologies and those that are just fads.

  • Passion. You have passion for what you do and love to ship code. You ideally have a portfolio of projects you like to show off.

  • Analytical. Experience or interest in presenting complex information in a simple way. You are able to filter out the “noise” and highlight the “signal”.

  • Balanced. You understand the code quality and workflow differences between developing production-level software and building prototypes. You feel comfortable with sprints.

  • Empathetic. You like to understand the customer before building things for them. You truly care about the end user.

What you get

  • Dress however you like (except when meeting customers).
  • A friendly and motivating work environment.
  • Flexible hours: you manage your time however you see fit.
  • Above-market wages.
  • Start-up like environment in a well-funded company.
  • Very close to a subway station (L1, Escuela Militar).
  • Secure indoor bicycle parking.
