Data & Skills Officer en Data Campfire

Contract:  3 days a week, 4 month contract with scope for extension

Social technology startup Data Campfire are entering an exciting new phase, with the introduction of two new roles. Given business growth targets, Data Campfire roles require proactive, entrepreneurial individuals with a strong understanding of social and / or community-based technology projects.

Data Campfire hosts Data Visualization events to help organizations get more value from their data, and event participants improve their data skills. Our goal is to help people become more literate through a community of data practitioners. Data Campfire was founded in the United Kingdom in 2016, and after joining Start-Up Chile, is aiming to develop opportunities in the Chilean market.

The Data & Skills Officer is a Spanish speaker with fluent English communication skills. They will research and lead Data Learning program. They will be required to facilitate data focussed events with support from other members in the team. In order to deliver successfully, the candidate will be able to prepare materials and activities for events targeted at individuals who are learning (B2C) or clients (B2B), on time and within budget. The nature of the role requires strong relationship management skills, to develop and maintain relationships with other team members, partners, clients and paying customers. As a business with a social mission, the candidate will have a desire to increase diversity and participation in data science and visualization. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Address social, scientific and statistical issues using creative workshop methods and digital technology.

• Design and deliver Data Visualization Events using tried and tested facilitation methods. 

• Facilitate events and assisting participants as a mentor.

• Work collaboratively with the team to define and deliver the Data Learning program.

• Design and deliver the Data Learning program, by creating new opportunities with clients and partners.

• Co-organize monthly  Data Visualization meetup   that organizes organization. 

• Give presented at the events representing the company.

• Contribute to business development and bid writing.

 Candidate Profiles

A confident communicator, the person will be passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience. They will have a strong grasp of the ever increasing role data and data literacy in our lives, being able to speak authoritatively on key issues. As a natural collaborator, they will understand the role of people skills, tact and diplomacy in project delivery. To the business, they will bring creative and analytical skills in equal measure. These skills will have been developed working in education, science & technology, the digital creative sector and/or the arts.

This job is part time position, 3 days a week. We can negotiate which days of the week is the best for both of you and Data Campfire. This is ideal for freelancers. There is potential for future opportunities to continue working together after the contract ends. 

Office and Hours:  Telefonica Open Future, 229 Providencia, CHILE 9am to 5pm
