Lead Telecom Engineer en Sterio.me

We’re seeking a highly motivated engineer, who is passionate about building an educational platform based on Asterisk / Elastix.

The application will be integrated with telecom operator infrastructures and USSD/SMPP, and mobile web/app interfaces will be built for controlling the back-end of our technology.

We will require development of a scalable database architecture and analytics to process the information on user performance and the learning system at large as we scale globally.

You will have responsibility in building the product and growing the team. 
You will help hire 1-2 additional local junior engineers to build our team in Santiago, Chile.

We have a working MVP but intend to re-build our product using Asterisk PBX for optimum scalability.

Required Skill-sets: 
- Asterisk / Elastix 
- Linux / Unix (Asterisk is based on Linux) 
- C++ / C# (Asterisk is based on C++, USSD/SMPP is based on C#) 
- PHP (Elastix is based on PHP and built on top of Asterisk)

Desired: 
- experience with telecom infrastructure 
- experience working in a startup
- 3+ years of programming experience

Asterisk: If you want to create applications and solutions with Asterisk you will need a working knowledge of Linux, script programming, networking and telephony. Asterisk started in 1999. 
an Open Source software development project, written in the C Programming Language, running on Linux (or other types of Unix), connecting many different Telephony protocols, speaking SIP, the most common VoIP protocol.

Elastix: Elastix is an Open Source Software to establish Unified Communications. The Elastix project begun as a call report interface for Asterisk and was released in March of 2006.

Salary is negotiable and depending on experience. Equity is negotiable (up to 3% vesting).
