Nixter is an exciting, nightlife based app, acquired by Skout Inc., an Andreessen Horowitz funded start-up company. Our main focus is to improve people’s night life experience and help distinguished Night Clubs and Event Planners with their management and data. Due to our start-up’s constant growth of customers and users, we are looking for great people to join our team and help us get to the next level and start the revolution of the night life industry.

Nixter is currently looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to help architect, build, iterate, and scale our Backend and Frontend application server software to create a better and faster user experience. As a Full Stack Software Engineer you will need a vast knowledge of Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and jQuery and being familiar with HTML5, CSS3, MySQL, CoffeeScript, Git, Frontend frameworks (AngularJS, KnockoutJS, etc.) and Web Services.

Key responsibilities:

• Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative, horizontal & vertically scalable code in a clustered server environment
• Continually offer thought-leadership and dependable execution ability in a high-paced environment characterized by ongoing iteration and product pushes
• Play a key role in backend development, troubleshoot and help shape the architecture of new features

Requirements:

• Strong Ruby on Rails and JavaScript experience including design, implementation and debugging
• 1+ years professional and non-professional experience building products for fast growing web or mobile products
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms (i.e., understanding the tradeoffs of performance, complexity, etc)
• Understanding of multithreading
• Comfortable in a small, intense and high-growth start-up environment that utilizes agile development practices such as SCRUM, unit testing, continuous integration, etc
• Experience developing high performance code in english
• Strong analytical skills, good judgement, driven to nourish your knowledge and passion for your work.
