Responsibilities:
-Establish a visual style that appropriately complements and enhances the game design set by the producer; have market awareness, consider marketability, trends and demographic
-Create an intuitive art bible that clearly communicates the art style
-Design and prepare an art brief for all event art; writeup, brief descriptors, references and sketches
-Assign event art to vendors who is best able to deliver on the art theme and style
-Provide both written and verbal art direction to in-house artists and external vendors to maintain and improve art quality bar
-Create art and provide hands-on art support when needed
- Provide mentorship to the art team to develop strengths in all art capabilities.
- Identify risks and find ways to increase productivity in the asset creation pipeline.
- Develop art requirements and production plans to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality art assets
- Lead the art team in the creation of a cohesive vision and look
- Provide concept art, sketches and reference throughout the entire development cycle
- Create and design key artwork, game assets and marketing materials
- Produce a unique artistic style that best showcases the creative vision and story of the game
Requirements:
- Experience and at least 1 shipped Pc, Console or Mobile games as an Art Lead or Art Director
- Knowledge of technical and traditional art processes and production pipelines for 2D and 3D gaming
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with others including remote teams
- Experience staffing and managing a team of diversely talented artists
- Understanding all the necessary tools including 3D Studio Max/Maya, Photoshop, Flash & Unity
- Self-motivated towards solving creative problems
